9:00
Good Morning! Children arrive, say goodbye to parents, and enter the classroom to greet their friends and teachers.
9:15 - Morning Ring
We gather together for song, stories, and movement. Once a week we will have yoga at this time.
“Good morning dear earth, good morning dear sun
Good morning dear stones, and the flowers every one
Good morning dear beasts, and the birds in the trees
Good morning to you, and good morning to me.”
9:30-10:00 - Free Play and Snack
Children may choose block building, dress-up, quiet book time, writing, games, etc. A healthy, wholesome snack made with organic ingredients is available during this time. Snacks will be served with rice, almond, or soymilk and warm tea. Please let me know if your child has any food sensitivities or special needs.
10:00 - Clean up and prepare to go outside.
10:15 - Outside Time
Children play in the play yard and garden, and/or go on a walk rain or shine. Please bring weather appropriate clothing so that your child may experience each season comfortably. In extreme weather, our outside play will be abbreviated.
11:00 - Group Time
We gather for storytelling, puppet plays, songs, circle games, and group discussion/planning.
11:15 - Activity Time
This is our time for open-ended exploration of an ongoing theme (such as light and shadow, weaving and fiber arts, construction, etc.,) and /or seasonal activities (such as baking, gardening, doing an art or craft project, preparing for our may faire, etc.) This is also the time for focused work with our art teacher in the studio as an extension of our curriculum.
12:00 - Clean-up, wash hands and prepare for lunch.
Lunch blessing.
“For trees so tall, and sky so blue
For friends and food we thank you!
Blessings on our meal.”
12:15 - Lunch Time
12:45 - Closing Ring
We read songs and/or tell a story to close the day.
1:00 - Goodbye
Children greet their parents and say goodbye to their friends. This is also a good time for a quick check-in with the teachers.

There is room for some flexibility in our schedule based on the current needs of the children, the time of year, and the energy of the day, although the basic structure remains the same. This provides the children with consistency, and a comforting rhythm that they can depend on each time they are at school.
